Problemy nauczania języka polskiego dzieci z polskich rodzin rosyjskojęzycznych na przykładzie Republiki Mołdawii / Problems of Teaching Polish to Children From Polish Russian-Speaking Families on the Example of the Republic of Moldova
Institution: school teacher

Keywords: Poles in the Republic of Moldova; Polish language in post-Soviet countries; Polish teachers in post-Soviet countries; Polish teaching system in the Republic of Moldova; teaching Polish in Polish Russian- speaking environments
Abstract
The article tries to show the complicated situation of teaching Polish to children from Russian-speaking families on the example of the Republic of Moldova, from the didactic point of view. The author of the article taught there in the years 2003-2005 in a kindergarten in Chisinau. In the independent (since 1991) Republic of Moldova (formerly a Soviet republic), the Polish language was rarely used among Poles living there, the dominant language was Russian, rarely Romanian. The Poles living there gradually forgot the Polish language. It also happened that in the Soviet times, fear of reprisals, the family stopped using the language of their ancestors. Therefore, when starting to learn Polish, a child learns it as a foreign language, the learning of which is characterized by an organized process spread over time. After 1991, the Polish language is attractive, which is related to the prestige of Polish culture and the good economic situation of Poland. For the methodology of language teaching, this meant two important issues: the need to take into account the transition from Russian, and less often Romanian, to Polish, and the need to refer to the communicative approach through a comparative linguistic analysis.

„Acatistul Maicii Domnului” într-un manuscris bilingv din 1683: probleme ale traducerii din slavonă în română / The Akathist of the Theotokos in a Bilingual Manuscript From 1683: Issues in Translating From Slavonic to Romanian
Institution: Researcher PhD., Institute for South-East European Studies, Romanian Academy, New Europe College
Email: mihailhancu@gmail.com
Keywords: The Akathist Hymn; 17th-century Romanian translations; Slavonic grammar; Slavonic- Romanian glossaries; bilingual texts
Abstract
The aim of this paper is to analyze a rather unique miscellaneous manuscript from the end of the 17th century, which contains both a Slavonic-Romanian lexicon and a Romanian translation of the Akathist Hymn, accompanied by the original Slavonic text on the left half of each page. The translator, a certain logothete named Mihai, does his best to provide his own version of a text whose first translations had only started surfacing in the first half of the same century. In the process of rendering the Slavonic text, he encountered a number of difficulties, some due to the morphological differences between Romanian and Slavonic (which were less apparent or even absent in the case of Slavonic and Greek), others due to his own carelessness or even lack of grammatical knowledge.

Проблеми на лексикографското представяне на частиците с прагматична функция в българския и хърватския език / Issues of the Lexicographic Representation of Pragmatic Particles in the Croatian and Bulgarian Languages
Institution: Assoc. Prof. PhD., University „Kliment Ohridski” Sofia, Bulgaria
Email: rosica_stef@abv.bg
Keywords: pragmatic particles; lexicographic definition; conversion; integral model of description of linguistic facts; discourse
Abstract
This study deals with some theoretical issues of the lexicographical representation of the pragmatic particles in the Bulgarian and Croatian languages. The analysis focuses on the lexicographic definitions of the particles indeed, actually, simply/наистина, действително, просто/zaista, zbilja, stvarno, jednostavno, excerpted from Veliki rječnik hrvatskog jezika, HJP, Dictionary of the Bulgarian language. Since the lexicographical concept stems from the current linguistic theory, an attempt has been made to systematize the lexicographical approaches in view of their dominant theoretical concepts. Some of the highlights include, e.g., the structural-morphological approach ‒ the grammaticalization processes presented as manifestations of lexical polysemy, homonymy or conversion, as well as the so-called integral model of description of linguistic facts, oriented to information related to the syntagmatic combination of particles in the broadest sense ‒ both at the level of utterance and the level of discourse. The representation of particles in the same dictionary entry with the adverbs has its basis in grammatical polysemy. Conclusions are made regarding the need for the lexicographic definitions to more fully reflect the semantic structure of particles, as this makes it possible to trace their modifying role at the level of discourse and speech acts.

Email: sorin@apple.com
Keywords: Church Slavonic; medieval manuscripts; tetraevangelion; priest; monk; monastery
Abstract
This article discusses on one of the oldest Tetraevangelions [Four Gospels Books], with exact creation date, written in medieval times on the territory of current Romania. The manuscript was written in Church Slavonic of Middle Bulgarian redaction. It was signed by its author, Priest Simeon (Сѷмеѡна), on July 14, 1450, during the time of Iancu de Hunedoara, Voivode of Transylvania, on the river Nerganiu, (Нерганю), in the village called The Big Village at Halmash (ᲀелико село ха(л)маш). Two remarkable notes are on the back of the folio 214: the first, is the colophon written by the author, Priest Simeon, and describes the time and location when he finished writing this manuscript and the second, was written later by a monk called Mitrofan (Митрофа(н)) and describes how he donated this manuscript to his mentor from his monastery to be used by other priests. This article is based on research done during the last three years and its focus is threefold: a) to provide a short chronological summary of some significant publications that described this manuscript, b) to provide information about the circumstances and the place where the manuscript was first found in modern times and by whom, and c) to provide evidence and arguments for its actual origin and to refute previous assumptions, widely accepted, regarding the geographical origin where this manuscript was written.
